About The Project
Our brief was to design a purpose build low energy contemporary dwelling for a family in the rear garden of their former home.
The heard of the house is the central double-story dining area adjoining with an open plan living and kitchen area. To reduce the energy use of the building we choice a well insulated timber frame construction finished off with an additional layer of insulated render boards.
A heat recover system was fitted to support the central heating as well as supplying fresh, filtered air. The solar panels on the south facing roof are producing the hot water for the whole family.
The rainwater is collected in a “rainwater harvesting system” to be used for the garden as well as the dishwasher and washing machine.
