The client was keen to have a sustainable build that retained the character of the barn while providing comfortable guest accommodation, with access for disabled guests and spacious teaching facilities.

As well as using sustainable materials in the conversion the project benefits from a ground source heat pump, solar panels and uses its own well for water.

The next step is to install a wind turbine to generate the school’s own power.
